A women’s tennis skirt on Amazon UK was being viewed but almost never bought: 3 units in the period. Apparel buyers hesitate on coverage, fit, and function, so we rewrote the listing to settle each of those before the buyer had to wonder. Two weeks later it had sold 21 units and its share of page views had grown from 27.99% to 37.04%. Every figure comes from the account’s Business Reports.

Product: A high waisted athletic tennis skirt, Amazon UK
The problem: Viewed often, bought almost never
Result: Units 3 to 21 and conversion 1.53% to 8.9% in 14 days
The Situation
Athletic skirts are a trust purchase. Buyers want to know they are covered, that the waistband will stay put, and that it works for their sport. This listing had 269 page views in the period and only 3 units sold, a 1.53% conversion rate.
The Approach
Treat every bullet as an answer to a fitting room question. Coverage, waistband, pockets, and fabric each got a direct answer, and the title named every sport buyers search for, so one skirt could meet tennis, pickleball, golf, and running intent.
What We Did
Answered the coverage question
Built-in shorts with a gusset for a smooth, comfortable fit. The first worry with any skirt, settled in one bullet.
Solved the waistband complaint
A high, crossed V waistband that does not roll down when bending, lunging, or squatting. Rolling waistbands are among the most common complaints in athletic wear reviews.
Gave buyers the pocket they look for
“Why not pockets?” A hidden pocket for a phone or a ball, the detail shoppers filter for.
Named every sport
Tennis, pickleball, golf, running, and workouts in the title, so the listing met several kinds of search intent.
Specified the fabric
75% nylon, 25% elastane, moisture wicking and quick dry. A real fabric blend reads as quality; “premium material” does not.
Every Line Answers a Fitting Room Question
Online, there is no mirror. The copy has to do the trying on.

THE PRINCIPLE: buyers return what they had to guess about. Every bullet here removes a guess: coverage, waistband, pocket, fabric.
Results After 14 Days
Page views rose from 269 to 356 and page view share from 27.99% to 37.04%. Conversion went from 1.53% to 8.9%, units from 3 to 21, and sales from £78.93 to £402.69. Two honest caveats: the starting point was small, and the average selling price was lower in the after period (£26.31 to £19.18), so the result reflects the new listing and a lower price working together.

Why Fit Answers Sell Apparel
Online shoppers cannot try it on. Every unanswered fit question is a reason to buy the skirt with more reviews instead. Answering coverage and waistband up front took those reasons away.
Features buyers filter for were made obvious. Pocket and high waist appear in the title and in their own bullets, so shoppers scanning for them stop scrolling.
One product, many sports. Naming tennis, pickleball, golf, and running let the listing meet more search intent, which helped its page view share grow by nine points.
The Lesson
In apparel, the copy is the fitting room. When it answers the questions a buyer would normally settle in front of a mirror, a listing that was being looked at starts being bought. Results depend on each listing’s competition, pricing, reviews, and inventory.
